Homeopathy At Home with Melissa
I am a Registered Homeopath and Lactation Consultant who loves Jesus and believes in the power of prayer in healing and restoration. God designed our bodies to heal themselves. We interfere with the body’s abilities by introducing medications which stop the action our bodies were made to do - heal! Homeopathy comes in and stimulates the immune system to help the body remember how to heal itself. ALL people are welcomed here, no matter your beliefs! I discuss mostly homeopathy here, but also I bring an encouraging word from the Lord and touch on the topics of parenting, homeschooling, marriage, and nutrition. Welcome to my world! It’s a beautiful, healthy life!

The journey toward healing isn't a quick sprint but rather a committed marathon that flourishes best when we're surrounded by supportive community. This truth resonates at the heart of our ninth installment in the encouragement series, where we explore how commitment and community intertwine to create lasting transformation.
Many natural health advocates know the awkward reality of being labeled "weird" or feeling unable to share their homeopathic knowledge in certain circles, particularly within church communities. For years, these worlds remained separate for many practitioners, creating an unnecessary divide. But what if these seemingly different paths actually strengthen each other? The very perseverance required for natural healing journeys mirrors the commitment needed in our spiritual walks.
The microwave society we inhabit has eroded our collective patience, yet homeopathy teaches us that true healing comes through consistency and dedication, sometimes without immediate visible results. This lesson transcends physical health, speaking directly to our spiritual growth as well. Hebrews reminds us not to give up meeting together, understanding that we spur one another toward love and good deeds through shared community. Just as the Inner Healing Circle provides support for homeopathy practitioners, our faith communities should serve as pillars of encouragement during both mountaintop experiences and valley seasons.
Has finding your tribe changed your healing journey? Join us for this heartfelt conversation about perseverance, unexpected paths, and how community transforms both our approach to health and our spiritual lives. And don't miss our upcoming final episode in this ten-part series, where we'll bring these principles full circle.
Welcome back to Homeopathy at Home with Melissa. Hey, Melissa.
Speaker 2:Hey Brie, I'm excited to continue the encouragement series that we started a while ago, and tonight is number nine.
Speaker 1:Number nine. We're almost done so. For those of you who have been listening and following along with these props to you I know they're just sprinkled in anyway, but we've been working slowly through these and I know we've touched on probably these last two points that we're going to cover over this episode and another one. But we're going to go a little deeper into number nine commitment and community. Number nine commitment and community. So if you're new to this series, short synopsis is our first retreat that Melissa did last year in 2024.
Speaker 1:I spoke on Sunday morning before we left and just shared some things on my heart that God had ways, that God had used my journey into homeopathy to teach me some spiritual truths. So I'm not saying in any way that homeopathy is biblical or you know, it's not scripture, it's not gospel but God has used it in my life, just as he's used a lot of things to reveal himself to me, and so I've just been sharing these in this encouragement series. So this area of commitment and community was a big one and I think it's great that it's one of the last ones. Healing with homeopathy and honestly, in the natural realm, but especially even in homeopathy, taught me so much more about long-term, the process of healing, what real healing looks like, not just feeling better quickly or putting a bandaid on something. But that journey requires a lot of commitment and a lot of follow through and very often the support of others can make or break that journey. And I think it's also fitting that you just launched the inner healing circle, Melissa. Like perfectly aligns with this.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we do a better job at doing this in other areas of our life, Like if, if the natural world right, we have classes, Facebook groups, the retreats that you've done, and if you homeschool, you find your spaces. We seek community. Naturally, the way God designed is for us to want to be in community, and so we try to find other people who believe the same way we do to walk alongside us in a world that is largely not like us. So that goes for natural health if you're in that world. I think it's gotten bigger. Our world has grown, For sure, yeah, but I bet I mean when I was first in the world, and I'm sure when you were, we were straight up waggos to people.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I was just thinking about that this morning. Funny that you say that, that I'm still almost in this. I'm trying to come out of this mindset that I can't talk to people at like my church family about homeopathy, because that's where I was for so long. I didn't feel I couldn't, that was witchcraft and you can't do that, and so so now you know, a church family member will not feel well, but I don't automatically say I can help you. I'm like still, I still do that.
Speaker 1:I know Well because it does. I think for a long time it was kind of ostracizing, like it just wasn't a part, or people, if they wouldn't say it to your face. I know people at other places we were at thought I was a total weirdo. People if they wouldn't say it to your face. I know people at other places we were at thought I was a total weirdo so I just stopped sharing it too. And even so, when we moved to Tampa and the current church we're at, I mean Florida, is its own world, I feel like. So that's another ballgame.
Speaker 1:But our church has a lot of natural minded people who are wanting to learn and this is the first time those worlds have really like that is just a part of who I am to learn and this is the first time those worlds have really like that is just a part of who I am to people. And it honestly has been kind of uncomfortable because I'm like I don't. I'm scared of what they might be thinking if they hear that I do homeopathy or I'm like no, I promise I'm not like you know, like whatever you think your homeopathy is, it's probably not that. Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think you and I have had some really great conversations around that, just that part of it, and I don't have a fear, but it's like I'm just stuck in it. I'm stuck in that I don't speak up because there's still a large part of the church that doesn't, that doesn't want any part of it. So I keep my mouth shut, and I'm not always, but just a lot. So, anyway, I'm sorry to get you off track.
Speaker 1:No, that's good, that's all. I think that's all just more elaboration on it. And so the way that this translated to my spiritual truth, something that God had I mean, I knew these things but just solidified in my heart or encouraged me in was the amount of dedication that I put into seeking support in these areas that are difficult to walk in in this world should be the same thought and dedication that I and we as Christians are putting into our Christian community, into the body of Christ. So the big C church not just your local church, but hopefully you are involved, you know, in a local church somewhere have a local group of Christians who do life with you, because our spiritual growth is strengthened by that. It's strengthened by, like, I think, even just the commitment to people who are you have the same common goal.
Speaker 1:You might walk that out a little differently, you might have very different personalities, but being a part of a faith community that is walking with you toward a common goal and that is what you know the Bible talks about is real.
Speaker 1:Fellowship, is we are moving together toward a common goal and we need that. We need each other and we're not made to do this alone. So it's just that I don't ever want to misplace or prioritize other things, even good things like community in the natural world, over community in my Christian world. So reminders like that God is constantly bringing me back to these things that I do are to be stewarded well, not to be ultimate. So kind of just check me. And Hebrews 10, 24, and 25 says let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another. So in the same way, you know, we show up places to encourage each other to keep going in a lot of great things, let's be doing that as the church, as the body of Christ.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely, as the body of Christ. Yeah, absolutely, you know. So in considering homeopathy and just being committed there's, you know, you don't just take one dose or one class. It's a journey. It's a journey, and so you follow remedy plans and follow-ups and check-ins and you adjust along the way. And so perseverance is something that I've really talked a lot about over the past few years is that we just live in such a microwave society that we've lost perseverance. Just as a people, you know, we just want that fast result, and so perseverance pays off.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:In all the ways.
Speaker 1:Sometimes you don't see that in other areas of life. You know the times where I feel like I struggle with long-term discipline in an area. Or I'm working with my son now on. He got his tongue tie release as a nine-year-old and we're still doing these Mayo exercises. This kid has been doing these for months and he is he's like what is this doing for me? Like to him, he's like I'm doing these things two or three times a day.
Speaker 1:This is so inconvenient and I'm trying to tell him I know this is the time where it matters the most Like you are almost done and I'm hearing myself saying these things to him. Right, like don't give up when it's been a long time and you don't feel like you're seeing anything come from it. And I mean, I think that might even be most of our earthly life. We are just doing the things and of course, there are like benefits here and there, but there might not always be these huge lightning bolt moments that we have or big payoffs on this side of eternity. You just got a text. I told you that's what they do. If you guys are watching this on YouTube, this is going to be some good entertainment.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, I'm not editing. I'm not editing, I don't have time. Yeah, I'm sitting in here with two flies flying around and so I knew that was going to happen. You did, you said it. Um, you know, we just, like you already said, we need support groups and mentors and and we need community. And um, I love that. I didn't even think about that. I love that you brought up the inner healing circle, because it is such a great community where people are learning from each other and building relationships in there. And um, so we can, absolutely. You know, I've seen this with me and you, bree um, like our relationship. We grow stronger in health and faith when we walk together. And um, you know, I've just gosh. I mean, you and I have come a long way in six years. Is it six?
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's six years. Yeah, pretty wild. I even think of where I was man, we might be getting a little bit off, but seriously, what was going on in my life when we first met and that God brought this relationship to me, then it could make you cry and it was so powerful to me, and even more now, looking back, like at the time I did know that, you know, I recognized it to some degree. But now I look back and the man that was a hard time. So the growth that has come from that and you have been there the whole time, yeah, and then leading to this, even, you know, doing homeopathy. This way. It's been so life giving to me, to my family, to so many people in the season of my life now that I had no idea was even coming.
Speaker 2:Right, you know, I thought that I was going to be solo homeopath, teach classes, build my practice, and that's just all I was going to do. I had no idea what the Lord was going to do. Now you have a whole team. It's crazy.
Speaker 1:It is crazy.
Speaker 2:You know. And then just the way, because of your transparency and just how, watching you and you telling me the things that this has done for you and your family, I'm like, wow, thank you, lord. I can't. I didn't know what he was doing. I literally just thought I'm going to teach classes, build my practice, I'm going to be solo, I'm going to make enough money to pay some bills. I mean, never, ever, thought that I would have a team and homeopaths and be starting a homeopathy school.
Speaker 1:What I know it's wild it is. It is pretty crazy and at the same, time it doesn't feel on my end. I'm like, I'm not surprised, but I know that you probably are, but that came from community.
Speaker 2:I couldn't do it by myself. I thought I could.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and maybe I mean I think you could have. But would you have in, just like that Hebrews verse says, encouraging each other, Like you probably had it in you. But hearing having other people like championing you and like believing in you, I wouldn't even be doing what I'm doing either. You were, I was like the baby bird in the nest, like no, no, and you're like you can do it in the nest, like no, no, and you're like you can do it.
Speaker 2:Uh, lisa, lisa, record One of the one of my one of our associates said um, she told somebody the other day in front of me Melissa likes to push you and make you uncomfortable so that you'll grow Like. She said it in love. Right that she. She knows that's a loving thing that I do.
Speaker 1:I am going to this is unreal, the way these flies are coming at you. I've never seen anything like this.
Speaker 2:There's only two in here. I can't believe it, and I'm not editing, so y'all have fun. They're dive bombing. Yeah, that's what they like to do, like they bonk you in the head. It's crazy, but but I do. I do because, well, I really don't like to push people at all. But when I see what you can't see, I'm like, oh yeah, you can do it, yeah.
Speaker 1:I knew it, you can and you're going to, and I'm like good. So, get in some community guys, um, if you're not in the inner healing circle. This truly wasn't going to be a pitch for that, but I think it's a great one, Um, so go ahead and join if you can. It's really a great space, um, and we would love to have you.
Speaker 2:So, god's timing is perfect, like we kind of forgot about this series. It's been we haven't done, I don't know when we, when we did, but yeah anyway, yep, wonderful, I love it. We need community, we need people, we need to encourage each other and we'll see you guys next time for the last one, number 10.
